The Foundation Board first appears in The Will of the Many as a deceptively simple strategic game—red and white stones arranged in opposing pyramids—whose rules mirror the rigid class hierarchy of the world. Over the course of the series it evolves from a recreational pastime into a covert tool for political maneuvering, espionage, and coded communication among the elite. Its physical form remains constant, yet its symbolic weight grows as players discover that every move on the board can be read as commentary on real-world power struggles.
