Scurve tends the Phoenix Inn, serving ale from behind its counter and keeping an attentive eye on the people who pass through. When trouble flares, his caution shows: he reaches for a club when Paran draws his sword and later watches Paran and Kalam warily. Though frightened when Kalam hauls him across the counter, he is set down unharmed, with silver left beside him.
Description
The book identifies Scurve as the man behind the Phoenix Inn’s counter but gives no details of his face, hair, coloring, age, or build. He wears the practical clothes of a barman, though their precise style is unspecified. His most distinct visual impression is a wary, guarded stance behind the counter, hands ready to serve—or to reach for a club.
