Sormo E'nath first appears in Deadhouse Gates as a preternaturally aged Wickan warlock whose child-body houses the accumulated memories of his clan’s fallen shamans. Attached to Coltaine’s refugee train, he shoulders the impossible burden of protecting thirty-thousand Chain of Dogs survivors with little more than trembling hands and ancestral wisdom. Across the series his role expands from battlefield adjunct to spiritual custodian of the Wickan people, his youth an ironic vessel for the oldest of burdens.
