Allik first appears in The Lost Metal as a cheerful Malwish airman whose bright red mask and eager grin mark him as an outsider in the Basin. Across the two books in which he features, he transitions from a visiting romantic partner to a trusted ally and junior goodwill ambassador, using his specialized Malwish technology and cultural knowledge to aid Marasi and her friends against threats to the Basin. His relationship with Marasi deepens from years of flirtation into a formal, affectionate partnership, while his presence in Waxillium Ladrian’s household cements his role as a bridge between Malwish and Basin cultures.
Description
Allik is a short, spindly man with a somewhat embarrassing beard and a bright toothy grin. He wears a bright red mask with yellow paint flakes radiating from the center, frequently raising or lowering it to show his eager expressions, which the mask design makes resemble a face sweating sunlight. An adult human man with a cloth mask, worn over his face or pushed up on top of his head. When the mask is raised, he shows a wide, cheerful grin; his animated posture and lively expression suit his perky, friendly manner. His hair, complexion, build, and other clothing are not established in the available descriptions.
