Kredik Shaw is not a person but the name attached to a storied tower, remembered in the city even as its identity shifts. By the time it is called Independence Tower, the old name survives in the nickname “the Shaw.” New construction rises above it, layering a newer civic symbol onto an older one.
Description
Kredik Shaw is a monumental tower, though the text offers no detailed account of its materials, coloring, or architectural style. Its defining visual feature is the new construction built on top of the existing structure, giving the landmark a layered silhouette. It stands as a recognizable presence in the city, known both as Independence Tower and by its older nickname, the Shaw.
