Elendel emerges as the gleaming capital of the Basin, a city-state founded by the survivors of the Catacendre and shaped by Harmony’s final acts. Over the centuries it grows from a frontier outpost into a sprawling industrial metropolis, its canals and broad avenues reflecting both the legacy of the Ascendant and the ambitions of its noble houses. By the time of The Lost Metal, Elendel stands at the center of political upheaval, technological innovation, and the first stirrings of interplanetary conflict.
