Homeland appears in Mistborn.

Homeland begins as the hidden, subterranean stronghold of the kandra people in the Final Empire, a place of rigid tradition and isolation. By the time of The Hero of Ages, the caverns are transformed into a strategic refuge and staging ground for the last free peoples of Scadrial, its tunnels and trust-based society tested by the encroaching doom of Ruin. The once-secret sanctuary becomes both a sanctuary and a battleground, its ancient Contract and Ways of the kandra ultimately deciding the fate of the world above.
