Kredik Shaw, the sprawling palace-complex of the Lord Ruler, begins as the unassailable heart of the Final Empire and the seat of divine tyranny. After its dramatic fall during the Catacendre, the ruins become a haunted symbol of the old regime, later serving as a contested archaeological and political site in the new era. Across the centuries, the once-forbidden fortress transforms from living seat of power to mythic ruin, and finally into a contested landmark whose legacy shapes the governance and identity of post-Catacendre Scadrial.
