Luth-Davn Canal
Engineered canal with towpath, barges and canalmen camps used for transport in the mists near Luthadel.
The Luth-Davn Canal begins in The Final Empire as a vital mist-shrouded artery for Luthadel’s trade, its towpaths and barge camps sustaining the city’s commerce under the Lord Ruler’s regime. By The Well of Ascension, the same waterway has been re-purposed into a strategic military lifeline, its westward branch from the River Channerel now ferrying siege supplies and troop barges for the embattled city. Across the two books, the canal shifts from a symbol of imperial control and mercantile routine to a contested corridor whose control determines whether Luthadel can withstand siege or starve.
