Southern Valley Road

road

Worn, dusty road through the southern valley with blackened soil, vines, and shrubs; parallels canals in misty, snow-patched areas. Used for travel to and from Luthadel.

The Southern Valley Road debuts in *The Well of Ascension* as a vital, weathered artery connecting Luthadel to the outer reaches of the Final Empire, its dusty path flanked by blackened soil, resilient vines, and shrubs amid misty, snow-dusted expanses paralleling ancient canals. Though appearing only in this second installment of the Mistborn Era One trilogy, it serves as a crucial thoroughfare for refugees, armies, and skaa migrants fleeing or approaching the besieged city during the chaotic interregnum following the Lord Ruler's fall. Its stark, foreboding landscape mirrors the era's turmoil, but it fades from prominence in later books as the narrative shifts to grander conflicts and new worlds.
