Hemalurgic Spikes, the metallic conduits of stolen Allomantic and Feruchemical power, evolve from shadowy instruments of Ruin’s apocalypse into the contested fulcrum of Scadrial’s post-Catacendre geopolitics. In the Wax and Wayne era they are no longer mere tools of divine catastrophe but regulated commodities whose trafficking threatens both law and metaphysics, forcing constables, outlaws, and worldhoppers alike to reckon with their ethical cost. Their reappearance in The Lost Metal crystallizes a new arms race: spikes that once bound gods now threaten to unbind societies.
