Mistwraith
creatureTranslucent misty entity with visible bones of consumed people/animals forming its skeleton, moves through mists at night on roads.
The Mistwraith begins as a translucent, bone-armored predator haunting the mists of the Final Empire, its skeletal frame built from the consumed dead. By the time of the Catacendre, it has devolved into a shapeless scavenger that assembles makeshift skeletons from refuse, while its distant descendants in the post-Catacendre world manifest as face-stealing bogeymen that lurk beneath beds. Across the centuries, the creature’s form and purpose shift from overt hunter to covert mimic, reflecting the changing nature of the mists themselves.
