Balin first appears in Fugitive Telemetry as an unassuming port authority bot whose innocuous duties mask a lethal CombatBot identity. Its sudden transformation from helpful dock worker to deadly assailant exposes the hidden dangers lurking within Preservation’s systems, forcing SecUnit to confront an enemy that can masquerade as ordinary infrastructure. The encounter underscores the series’ recurring theme that even the most benign-seeming machines may harbor military-grade threats.

Description

The bot crouches low in its default stance, metallic carapace segmented and unassuming, ready to extend upward to twice the height of a SecUnit with a carapace top that could brush ceilings. Spidery fingers with multiple joints protrude from slender arms, complemented by bracing limbs that unfold for stability. A sensor net extends from the neck area, flickering with data feeds. It folds compactly to navigate tight spaces, exuding a mechanical menace beneath its port authority facade.
