Router Installation first appears in System Collapse as a compact, camouflaged communication node designed to blend seamlessly into the artificial-stone landscape of a colony world. Its cylindrical boulder form and artistic hatch indentation represent a deliberate shift from utilitarian tech toward aesthetic integration, allowing the installation to serve both practical and covert purposes. Across the series, this evolution marks a broader trend in Murderbot’s universe: technology that once screamed its function now whispers, enabling safer, more strategic deployment in hostile or surveilled environments.
