Ipille's name alone seems to carry the weight of marching armies and old grudges. Though never seen directly, the mention of this Kez ruler evokes images of cold calculation and ancient royal privilege. One senses a man who views borders as suggestions and lives as currency.

King Ipille of Kez remains a distant but menacing figure throughout the tale, the ruler whose ambitions threaten to plunge the Nine Nations back into war. His plans for invasion loom over the story like a gathering storm, representing the old order of monarchy and Privileged power that Tamas and his allies seek to dismantle.
