The scholar has the pinched expression of someone who's spent too many nights reading by candlelight, yet his face holds a deceptive youthfulness. Simple clothes and quiet intelligence make him easy to overlook, but his eyes suggest a mind that misses very little. There's a gentle scholarly warmth beneath the squint.

Uskan is introduced as a young-looking man of forty-five with the pinched face of one who squints while reading in poor light, serving as assistant to the vice-chancellor. His scholarly nature and unassuming presence place him among the academic circles of the university during the turbulent times following the coup. Though his role is small, he represents the intellectual class trying to navigate the dangerous new political reality.

Description

A man who appears significantly younger than his forty-five years, with a distinctly pinched face from years of squinting at text in poor lighting. He wears simple scholarly attire—vest, shirt, and practical trousers—with an unassuming academic bearing. His features are neat and intelligent, his eyes sharp despite the habitual squint that has shaped his expression.
