Warden
MinorHe lurks in the shadows with the patient menace of something that should not exist, his hunched form radiating unnatural power. One glimpse and you understand why men speak of him in whispers.
In the Powder Mage Trilogy, the Warden serves as a nightmarish emblem of the Kez royalist regime's sorcerous depravity, appearing as a one-off enforcer in Promise of Blood. This hulking, magically altered brute possesses unnatural strength, arcane resilience, and a grotesquely mutable physique that writhes with exposed muscle when revealed. Though his confrontation is brief, he functions as a living weapon dispatched to crush dissent, ultimately pinned and defeated in a visceral display that underscores the old regime's monstrous experiments. His existence foreshadows the deeper horrors of Privileged sorcery and the ethical boundaries Field Marshal Tamas's revolution must confront.
Physical Description
A hunchbacked man of deceptive power, his thick, muscular arms and legs are deformed yet immensely strong. An overlarge, misshapen brow dominates his face above blue, bloodshot beady eyes that dart with cruel focus. He has no facial hair, and lank blond hair hangs limply around his features. Beneath his pale skin, muscles move independently—tightening, jumping, forming tight balls or flattening against bone in constant spasms like snakes writhing under silk. He typically wears a long dark jacket over a bare torso, a stovepipe top hat, and black pants, carrying an aura of unnatural, twitching menace.
