Adamat's House
Modest two-story family home in Adopest, simple but comfortable interior with hallway, staircase, visible hall clock, front step, cane sword holder by the door, lived-in domestic space
Adamat's House is a modest two-story family home in Adopest that serves as the emotional anchor for Inspector Adamat and his family throughout the Powder Mage series. In *Promise of Blood*, it is depicted as a simple but comfortable domestic space filled with the rhythms of family life, from the ticking hall clock to the cane sword by the door, until it becomes the site of a brutal attack by the Privileged sorcerer Borbadoror that leaves Adamat's wife and children traumatized and forces the family into hiding. As the series progresses through the Kez occupation and subsequent wars, the house is repeatedly abandoned, damaged, and reclaimed, mirroring Adamat's own fractured loyalties and desperate attempts to protect his loved ones. By the later books it evolves from a symbol of middle-class stability into a scarred refuge that represents both the cost of revolution and the fragile hope of rebuilding after the chaos of gods and powder mages.
