In Promise of Blood, they become a flashpoint during the coup and subsequent chaos, with Tamas's forces clashing against royalist remnants and foreign agents attempting to smuggle weapons and influence. As the series progresses into The Crimson Campaign and The Autumn Republic, the docks evolve from a strategic port into a war-torn zone, repeatedly targeted by invasions, blockades, and sabotage as Adro faces threats from the Kez, Deliv, and internal factions.
