The Kez Plains serve as the primary theater of war in the Powder Mage Trilogy, a vast expanse of rolling grasslands stretching south from the Adran border and South Pike Mountain into Kez territory. In Promise of Blood, they are catastrophically scarred by the deliberate collapse of South Pike's southern rim, which unleashes rivers of lava and fiery devastation that hinder military movements and mark the beginning of open conflict between Adro and Kez. As the series progresses through The Crimson Campaign and The Autumn Republic, the plains become a blood-soaked battleground where massive armies clash, sorcery is unleashed on a grand scale, and the landscape is further ravaged by artillery, Privileged magic, and the emergence of god-like powers. By the trilogy's end, the once-fertile grasslands stand as a symbol of the brutal cost of the wars, with their recovery tied to the fragile peace that follows the resolution of the Godslayer conflicts.
