The Arena

Gutted industrial building in the slums converted into a bare-knuckle boxing arena. Central feature is a circular sunken pit twelve paces wide and four paces deep with wooden slat walls, surrounded by precarious multi-tiered wooden spectator stands rising to the roof. High rectangular windows provide the only light. One end contains curtained fighter stalls with buckets, benches, and basic recovery facilities. Floor covered in sawdust to absorb blood. Formerly a pig sty, retaining some of that character.

As the trilogy progresses through The Crimson Campaign and The Autumn Republic, the Arena evolves from a mere blood-soaked spectacle into a symbolic site of resistance and intrigue, where key characters leverage its chaotic environment for covert meetings, training, and even revolutionary planning amid the escalating wars with Kez and internal power struggles. Its sawdust-covered floors continue to drink the blood of fighters and plotters alike, underscoring the brutal underbelly of a nation in turmoil.
