Also known as Cedric

First seen · Book 4 · Ch. 2

Cedric cu Platuu seems to carry his delight right in his round, flushing cheeks, all quick fingers and barely-there mustache. There is something cheerfully undignified about his giddy presence—a small, ample man who can make even a formal room feel a little less solemn.

At seventy-one, Cedric serves as the Sovereign’s steward, bringing a bustling, almost comic energy to the machinery of power. His quick fingers and delighted manner make him memorable amid more imposing figures, while his position places him close to the business of rule. The text gives only brief glimpses of him, but they leave the impression of a cheerful functionary whose plump, eager presence is difficult to mistake.

Description

Cedric is short and ample, with a rounded body likened to a plum and knobby arms and legs. His plump cheeks flush readily, and a whisper of a mustache sits above his mouth, nearly lost against his fine, graying copper hair. At seventy-one, he has a happy, giddy expression and quick, nimble fingers. In formal company he wears a tuxedo, creating a strikingly grand frame for his buoyant, almost comical presence.
