- First seen · Book 2 · Ch. 1
Karnus au Bellona is a massive Gold warrior who towers over other men with shoulders maybe half again as broad and muscled forearms looking like they're carved from smoothed riverwood. His face appears haggard with a dimpled chin that accompanies a laughing mouth and toothy grin full of uncommon intelligence, while his huge frame vibrates with power and allows him to hoist grown men effortlessly or shatter faces with a single charge. Fair-skinned with golden hair and intense golden eyes, this Bellona Goliath wears imposing armor that shells his great shoulders and bellows his name as he rushes into battle with mouth curved in hate.

Karnus au Bellona emerges in Golden Son as the towering, battle-hardened scion of House Bellona, a Goliath whose raw physical power and cunning intellect make him one of the most feared Gold warriors in the Rising universe. Introduced as the vengeful brother of Cassius, Karnus embodies the brutal honor culture of the Golds, driven by a bloodfeud against Darrow for the death of his brother Claudius. His presence establishes the Bellona family as a major antagonistic force, with his imposing physique and ruthless combat style serving as a physical manifestation of the old order's resistance to change.
