Kobachi seems built for the close, cluttered world of a workbench: bent, watchful, and half-hidden behind the magnifying lenses in his sleepy green eyes. Metal ridges emerging from his pale scalp lend his small, shuffling figure an uncanny, almost mechanized air.

Kobachi first appears in Iron Gold as a reclusive, cybernetically enhanced technician whose cramped workshop becomes the unlikely hub for the heist that sets the series’ later arcs in motion. His precise craftsmanship supplies the custom drone and holocontacts that Ephraim’s crew relies on, yet his faulty merchandise and open prejudice against Obsidians immediately mark him as both indispensable and unreliable. Across the single book in which he features, Kobachi’s role crystallizes the uneasy alliance between underworld artisans and the Syndicate’s muscle, foreshadowing how small-time inventors can tip the balance of larger rebellions.

Description

Kobachi is a tiny, slight man in his deep sixties, with a bald head and pale skin. Dull metal implants rise from his skull, while sensors and magnifying lenses sit within his sleepy green eyes. He wears patched-up overalls with multiscrews and tools hanging from his belt, and his bent, shuffling posture gives him a little mechanized-gecko quality.
