Ragnar Volarus

Ragnar Volarus

Major

A colossal pale-skinned Obsidian warrior stands nearly twice the height of normal men, his gigantic frame packed with rock-like muscles that shift like coiled power beneath taut skin. Completely bald except for a meter-long white ponytail flowing down his back, his face is wind-weathered with thick calluses resembling rhinoceros hide, black eyes burning like witchflames from beneath prominent skull tattoos of the Stained while matching dragon-pupil tattoos mark the backs of his eyelids. Runic tattoos cover his body with symbols for protection, malice, mother, father, and sister, and he typically wears heavy dark armor that strains against his titanic build as he moves with perverse, flowing grace like a blade made flesh.

Ragnar Volarus emerges in Golden Son as a towering Obsidian warrior, the Stained prince whose unmatched ferocity and loyalty make him an indispensable bodyguard to Darrow au Andromedus amid the Society's brutal power struggles. By Morning Star, he evolves into a legendary brother-in-arms, his runic tattoos and braided beard symbols of his deepening resolve, culminating in a heroic sacrifice against Peerless Scar Aja au Grimmus that secures Darrow's victory and elevates his sister Sefi to Obsidian queenship. Across the trilogy, Ragnar transforms from a chained enforcer into a pivotal liberator, his death forging unbreakable bonds in the Rising's forge of blood and ice.

His pale skin is heavily callused and textured like rhinoceros hide from arctic winds, covered in blue glyph tattoos from Mars south pole, a dark Howler tattoo, and protection runes like tears running down his white cheeks. The head is shaved except for a long white tail braided with red ribbons while his white beard is carefully braided into four distinct strands, framing an impassive face with deep black eyes holding vast history and scarred lips that curl into mocking or delighted smiles. He wears bone white armor freshly painted with a red slingBlade across chest and back, often layered with a damp wolfcloak or thick bear pelt dangling from one metal shoulder, his enormous six-fingered hands ready at his sides.
