Titus au Ladros appears only in the opening volume of the Red Rising Saga, yet his brief, brutal arc casts a long shadow over the series. Introduced as a towering, dirt-caked Gold of House Mars, he is soon revealed to be a fellow Red carved to infiltrate the Institute, making him Darrow’s first mirror of what their rebellion could become. His reign of terror—marked by rape, murder, and the enslavement of his own House—ends when Cassius kills him, but the moral questions he raises about power, vengeance, and the cost of leadership reverberate through Darrow’s later choices.

His large eyes and broad, wolfish grin can look cruel or disdainful. He wears rough, practical clothing suited to the Institute, usually looking grimy and unkempt.
