Helisson begins as a humble nickel mine on Mercury but is transformed into a fortified rebel stronghold by the Rising, its multi-level walkways and suspended platforms becoming the nerve center for the Republic’s final campaign against Atalantia’s legions. Across the later books, the mine evolves from a mere resource extraction site into a symbol of resistance, hosting critical strategic briefings, daring rescues, and the emotional farewells of key characters before the climactic siege.
