Ilium, the legendary city-state of the Golds, begins the saga as an untouchable citadel of power and privilege. Across the Red Rising series, it transforms from an impregnable fortress into a contested battleground, its fall symbolizing the collapse of the Society’s old order. By the time of Light Bringer, Ilium has become both a literal and ideological prize, its streets echoing with the clash between revolutionary forces and the last defenders of the old regime.
