Mickey's Gymnasium begins as a grungy, sulfur-lit underground training floor beneath Mickey's club in the first book, serving as the raw, utilitarian space where Darrow undergoes his brutal physical transformation from Red to Gold. Across the series, this location evolves from a hidden, illicit training ground into a symbol of the rebellion's early infrastructure, representing the gritty foundation upon which the larger uprising is built. The gymnasium's stark, industrial atmosphere contrasts with the opulent worlds above, embodying the hidden cost and physical sacrifice required for revolution.
