The Promenade Levels first appear in Iron Gold as stacked public decks designed for foot traffic and display within larger habitats, serving as circulation spaces rather than independent cities. Throughout the series, these levels evolve from mere architectural features into vital social and strategic hubs where political intrigue, resistance movements, and personal dramas unfold. Their transformation reflects the broader societal shifts in the Red Rising universe, becoming contested spaces where the old hierarchy meets the new order.
