The Mass is a sprawling hinterland city on Luna, positioned behind the Atlas Interplanetary Docks and distinct from the Atlas Mountains of northern Luna. Introduced in Iron Gold, it serves as a backdrop for the post-Sovereign War era, reflecting the broader societal shifts and lingering tensions across the Solar System. Its role expands from a mere geographic marker to a symbol of the fractured worlds left in the wake of revolution.
