LeechCraft first appear in Golden Son as sleek, rapid-assault shuttles that ferry Obsidians, Golds, and Grays onto enemy vessels, embodying the Society’s doctrine of swift, decisive boarding actions. By Morning Star their design has shifted to a more utilitarian, almost crude form—small, ugly metal craft that carry fifty troops and literally melt through hulls to disgorge boarders inside. Across the two books the craft evolve from symbols of elite, precision warfare to blunt instruments of attrition, mirroring the saga’s descent from orchestrated Gold politics into all-out rebellion.
