Across the later volumes the armor evolves from a static symbol of Gold supremacy into a contested technological and cultural artifact: captured suits are retrofitted by Sons of Ares engineers, while loyalist Knights receive upgraded pulseShields and gravBoots to counter rising lowColor threats. By the final books the armor’s iconography is deliberately co-opted—repainted, defaced, or worn by former slaves—to signal the collapse of the old hierarchy and the birth of a new merit-based order.
