The Pale Mask first appears in Dark Age as the signature horror mask of the Fear Knight, a sexless child's face ringed with serpentine hair whose eyes remain fixed forward no matter how the wearer turns their head. This unsettling visage embodies the Fear Knight's psychological warfare tactics, transforming a simple disguise into a symbol of terror that haunts the minds of his enemies throughout the conflict. The mask's design—combining innocence with serpentine menace—reflects the Fear Knight's philosophy of weaponizing fear itself, making it an extension of his identity rather than mere concealment.
