The Peerless Scar begins in Red Rising as a brutal sword-wound awarded to victorious Golds at the Institute, instantly elevating the bearer to elite status among their color. By Golden Son the scar has become a precise, almost ceremonial mark of survival and conquest, worn openly as a badge of peerless authority. In Iron Gold the same scar is now often concealed with resFlesh, revealing how the once-proud symbol of Gold supremacy has grown politically inconvenient in a post-conquest society.
