The Storm Knight Armor first appears in Dark Age as the distinctive battle-plate of a Peerless Scarred Legate, its storm-cloud hue and thunderhead pauldrons marking its wearer as a high-ranking commander of the Republic’s aerial legions. Across the series the armor evolves from a purely functional suit of war into a symbol of both martial authority and personal legacy, its pearl-leopard mantle and phalera kill marks chronicling victories from Mercury to the Rim. By the later books it becomes a rallying standard for the Free Legions, its wearer’s rank badges and insignia serving as visual shorthand for the Republic’s embattled ideals.
