The King’s Guard gives any room a sharper edge: a dark-clad, armed presence whose silence feels as deliberate as a command. They move with the authority of the crown behind them, making protection and menace difficult to separate.

The King’s Guard of Arden, also called the blackbirds, serve as armed royal protection and appear as an escort for Jenna. Their presence is treated as a significant measure of security, one whose arrival or absence matters to those hoping for help. The text presents them collectively, without developing individual members or personal histories.
Description
The King’s Guard are described collectively as armed guards and as an escort called the blackbirds. Their individual faces, ages, builds, skin tones, hair, and eyes are not specified; the name suggests a dark visual identity, but no precise uniform details are provided. Their defining impression is disciplined alertness, a guarded presence shaped by their service to the crown.
