Oden’s Ford is the academy whose name becomes inseparable from the attack and killings associated with it. The characters flee from the school, leaving the Ford behind as a place marked by sudden violence rather than ordinary study. The text offers little architectural description, so its lasting presence is that of a threatened institution and a remembered refuge lost.
Description
Oden’s Ford is an academy, also referred to as the Ford, but its architecture and physical appearance are not described. It is presented as a school substantial enough to serve as a recognizable destination and institution. No specific materials, layout, colors, or landmarks are established, leaving its visual identity open beyond its role as an academy.
