Zavier Dray

Minor

Zavier moves with the coiled grace of a ranger who's faced shadows and lived to tell. His braided hair and metal brow band catch the light like secrets etched in steel, while his sweat-sheened face holds a quiet intensity that draws the eye. There's a beauty to him in the harsh daylight, raw and unyielding.

Zavier Dray first appears in the Shield of Sparrows series as a steadfast ranger ally in Book 2, Rites of the Starling, initially serving Odessa before charging into battle against monstrous foes with sword in hand. Resembling the warrior Ransom with his intricate braids and short beard, Zavier fights valiantly alongside Vander toward the gates, his athletic prowess shining through the chaos. Though he sustains a dislocated shoulder and arm in a sling by the book's end, he limps onward, embodying unyielding loyalty and marking him as a vital, if minor, thread in the survivors' tapestry.

Physical Description

Zavier Dray cuts an athletic warrior's figure in his late 20s, his build muscular and battle-ready, with black hair woven into intricate braids that frame a face strikingly resembling Ransom's—strong jaw shadowed by a short beard. A gleaming metal band arcs across his brow, a distinctive gleam against tanned skin often sheened with sweat. His eyes hold a piercing focus, and though beautiful in daylight, his presence carries the weight of endurance, left arm typically slung and a limp marking his step. He wears practical ranger leathers fitted for speed and combat, sword ever at his side, exuding unyielding resolve.
