River Cartwright's Undercover Assignment

River Cartwright arrives in Upshott under cover as writer Jonathan Walker to investigate Mr. El's connection to the village, beginning a relationship with local barmaid Kelly Tropper while uncovering the Cicada network.

Outcome

River discovers that 17 families moved to Upshott simultaneously in 1991, suggesting a coordinated relocation of Soviet deep-cover agents, and learns Kelly Tropper may be planning an aerial attack.
