Aesudan Kholin appears in the book through a striking image of gemstone-laden finery and through Navani’s memories of her place in Kholinar. Navani reflects on having guided her after Gavilar’s death, while later thoughts recall Aesudan’s role in the city and the invitation of an Unmade. The text gives little further detail of her life here, but her conspicuous adornment remains her defining visual impression.
Description
Aesudan is slender, with long hair gathered into a bun and illuminated by gemstones in a range of colors. She favors gaudy, multicolored gemstone accessories that make her appearance vivid and conspicuous. Her face, complexion, and eye color are not specified; what stands out is the lavish, jewel-bright effect of her hair and adornment.
