Rock’s daughter Cord arrives among the Alethi in Shardplate, carrying Amaram’s old Shardbow and determined to train as a Shardbearer. A Horneater able to see spren invisible to most, she proves a formidable archer, with her bow already having struck down Leshwi and later serving her against Nale. Her path sets her apart from her father’s wishes and the expectations surrounding her, as she claims a place through her own skill and resolve.
Description
Cord is a solidly built young Horneater woman with bronze-toned skin and rusty, dark-red hair, usually drawn into a tail and tied with a ribbon. Her features are described as Horneater, though the text gives no finer detail of her face or eyes. She is associated with full Shardplate and carries a Shardbow, but can also appear in practical clothing suited to cooking. Her bearing is sturdy and self-possessed, with the equipment of a warrior set against an unexpectedly domestic practicality.
