Brightness Danlan Morakotha first appears in The Way of Kings as a poised, fashionable lighteyed woman with auburn hair and steel hair-spikes who catches Adolin Kholin's eye during his string of brief courtships on the Shattered Plains. Adolin finds her intriguing and secures her a temporary clerk position, though Dalinar suspects she may be spying for a rival highprince. By Rhythm of War, a figure named Danlan is identified as a middling member of Taravangian's secret organization, assigned a deliberately time-consuming quest. This retroactively casts a sharper shadow over her earlier closeness to the Kholins, if the two are indeed the same person.
Description
Danlan is lithe and graceful, with a long neck and auburn hair threaded with a few black strands. She wears her hair high in a complex arrangement of braids held by four traditional steel hair-spikes. Her clothing includes a green dress, described elsewhere as sleek in style. The text gives no specific eye color or facial features; her presence is poised and elegant, accompanied by a breathy, husky voice.
