Earless Jaks is one of the bridgemen, introduced as a scowling, angular man whose complaints and taunts set him apart from the quieter members of the crew. He argues that the warcamp is guarded and that bridgemen cannot leave without supervision, voicing the limits of their lives with stubborn certainty. His appearances remain brief, but his abrasive presence gives the crew’s rough-edged company a memorable note.
Description
Earless Jaks has angular features and a scowling expression. The text does not specify his coloring, hair, eyes, age, or build, and his facial hair is described ambiguously as either neatly trimmed or absent. He wears simple bridgeman clothing; one account specifies a brown leather vest and short trousers. His muttering, snorting manner gives him a distinctly combative presence.
