Korater has the brisk, matter-of-fact presence of a sergeant keeping order among new recruits. The white knots on his shoulders make his rank visible before he says a word, while his brief appearance leaves his temperament largely unreadable.

Korater is named early, though no details are given at that point. Later, he appears as a sergeant under Gare, helping escort the new recruit Cenn; the white knots on his shoulders mark his rank. The text offers no further account of his history or relationships.
Description
Korater is a male sergeant whose white shoulder knots identify his rank. The text does not describe his face, hair, eyes, complexion, height, build, or other clothing, so those details remain unspecified. He is shown carrying out his duties with a practical military presence.
