Lift remembers her mother as part of the last time life felt right, before her mother fell sick. That memory remains a tender measure of what Lift has lost, though the book offers little else about her life or their time together. Her presence endures not through a detailed account, but through the ache and warmth of Lift’s remembrance.
Description
The text gives no specific account of her mother’s appearance, so her face, coloring, hair, eyes, build, and clothing remain unknown. She is best pictured only as a gentle, indistinct figure in memory, without invented visual details.
