Ton sits amid the dust of mine work, dirt obscuring the boundary between his skin and his clothes. There is a weary plainness to the glimpse of him, as though the laboring world has settled over every surface.

Ton appears as a mine worker seated at a table. The text emphasizes how thoroughly dirt and dust cover both his skin and clothing, and gives no further account of his story.
Description
Ton is a male mine worker, seen sitting at a table. Dirt and dust coat him so heavily that it is difficult to tell grimy skin from grimy cloth, and his clothing is little better than Szeth’s. No details are given about his build, hair, eyes, or facial features.
