Querl Xoralundra

Supporting

Querl Xoralundra looms like a living fortress, his tripod stance unyielding and his saddle-shaped head scanning with predatory patience. The rumble of his voice carries the weight of eons, drawing you into the shadow of his ancient gaze. There's a quiet ferocity in his stillness that commands respect and unease.

Querl Xoralundra, the venerable Idiran warrior-priest, emerges in the Idiran-Culture War as a figure of unshakeable zeal and strategic cunning, serving as handler and mentor to the Changer spy Bora Horza Gobuchul in a desperate bid to seize a Culture Mind on Schar's World. Amid the chaos of mercenary missions and brutal betrayals aboard the CAT, he captures Culture agent Perosteck Balveda and commands fierce assaults, embodying his species' rigid faith even as defeat looms. In Horza's dying vision, Xoralundra's imposing presence lingers as a haunting symbol of the war's bloody alliances, with no further evolution traced in subsequent Culture novels.

Physical Description

Three meters tall, Querl Xoralundra stands on a tripod of thick legs like a small armored spaceship, his huge saddle-shaped head protruding forward with two front eyes positioned near the edges. His wide mouth gapes large enough to sever both hands at once, framed by a keratinous snout typical of Idirans. Often clad in a bulky spacesuit at battle stations, his broad gleaming face exudes age and authority. His presence is rumbling and immense, a tripod sentinel of alien might.
