Derrik starts as a background figure among Kvothe's University peers, tall and blond, occasionally joking and stretching with a grimace in group settings. He teases Roent gently and looks amazed at Kvothe's music, showing a supportive camaraderie. By the later chapters, he remains a minor ally in the bustle of student life, ever the tall, light-hearted presence on the periphery.
Description
Head and shoulders taller than most, this twenty-something blond towers with a lanky yet sturdy build, his fair hair tousled from casual activity. He often grimaces expressively or stretches back with relaxed ease, shading his eyes from the sun with one hand while perched on a horse trough's edge. His face lights up with amazement or playful teasing, clad in simple student clothes that speak of everyday University life.
