Krin appears as a lean dark-haired girl rescued by Kvothe, with scabbed wrists and neck bruise, her hard fierce eyes softening to peaceful sleep. Through stunned shock to flinty stares, she cooks potato soup by fire, rubbing wrists in windblown recovery. Resembling young Denna, she embodies the vulnerable strength of those Kvothe aids on his Ademre path.
